The short version

Orca IM Tracker is a local macOS utility. It does not collect, store, transmit or share any personal data.

No data collection

The app contains no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or advertising SDKs. Nothing about you is collected, stored, sold or shared.

No network access

The app makes no network requests of any kind. It has no server, no account and no cloud sync.

No permissions requested

The app does not ask for Accessibility, Input Monitoring, Screen Recording, camera, microphone, contacts or Apple Events access — you will never see a permission prompt from it.

What the app reads, and why

To draw the small indicator next to the pointer, the app reads the identifier and display name of the currently selected input source (for example “Pinyin – Simplified”) using the public macOS Text Input Source API, plus that input method's own icon label from its Info.plist. To show the badge in the middle of a window after an app switch, it also asks macOS for the on-screen position of that app's windows. Window titles are never available to it and it never records what any window contains. This information is processed in memory only: it is never written to disk and never leaves your Mac.

Preferences

Your settings (currently only the optional badge-text overrides) are stored in the app's own preferences container on your Mac and are not shared with anyone.

Launch at login

If you enable “Launch at login”, the app asks macOS to start it when you log in. This is handled entirely by macOS.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
